From 1–4 September 2026, the 2nd Meeting of the Central and Eastern European EAFP Branch brought together the fish health community in Křtiny, Czech Republic.

The event organized with the support of the University of Veterinary Sciences in Brno and Mendel University in Brno, welcomed 38 participants from Central Europe, Japan and Australia, providing an excellent forum for scientific exchange and strengthening connections within the EAFP community.

The scientific programme covered a broad range of current topics in fish health and aquaculture, including viral and parasitic diseases, emerging disease cases, diagnostics, health management and disease control. Oral presentations were complemented by a diverse poster session and a dedicated Fish Immunology Workshop, highlighting recent advances in teleost immunology.

Beyond the scientific programme, participants had plenty of opportunities to meet and exchange ideas during the social evening and an excursion exploring some of the cultural and natural highlights of the Czech Republic.
