Aquatic Animal Health Specialist (fish)

The post provides an opportunity to join leading scientists in the field of Aquatic Animal Health. You will initiate, lead and deliver scientific programmes (fin fish sector)underpinning the Aquatic Animal Health National Reference Laboratories at the Cefas Weymouth Laboratory, UK. As well as leading and influencing scientific work programmes you will be required to support the development of overseas programmes of work in the sector. You will be responsible for producing and reporting scientific findings to the Competent Authority and the wider scientific community through peer reviewed publications and via a range of other media.

The Director, Extension Fish Health Specialist will oversee this lab, and also provide vital field support for the Arkansas aquaculture industry. Job responsibilities include developing and implementing a dynamic Extension program related to solving fish health problems on commercial aquaculture farms, maintaining a high-level of fish health and water quality diagnostics services for commercial fish farms, and training county Extension agents.

Fisheries Summer Internships in Oregon, USA

Interested in gaining experience in fisheries? The Tiller Ranger District will be filling 2 Summer Fisheries Internship positions. These positions are designed to introduce students to fisheries management on federal lands and provide work experience. Fisheries internships include checking smolt traps, identification of smolts by species, measuring and marking of smolts, stream surveys, snorkel counts, eDNA sampling and participating in several habitat restoration projects.
