30 years of the Bulletin
The Bulletin of the European Association of Fish Pathologists was first published 30 years ago, beginning two years after the 1979 establishment of the Association. In Issue 1 of the Bulletin, the aims were given as: to publish contributions on scientific findings, reports of controversial problems, letters to the editor and other items that might stimulate a debate. The Bulletin has the same aims today; along with the refereed scientific articles, the Bulletin welcomes notes and announcements for the “New and views” section, and welcomes reviews or opinion papers. Issue 1 of the Bulletin was read by a Membership of “more than 175”. Today the Bulletin is read by over 900 Members and is subscribed to by many libraries and citation services.
To mark the 30 years, the cover of the Bulletin has been renewed with a new layout. Also, the Bulletin now welcomes figures in colour, to be printed without charge (previously a charge applied for any colour printing). Please see the amended “Instructions to authors” on the inner back cover. The cover photographs will change with each issue and will be taken from current or previous articles – suggestions for inclusion are welcome. Legends and acknowledgements are included on the inner back cover.
The Bulletin has been made the prominent journal it is today by the untiring work of the past Editors, the Subject Editors, the many referees, the EAFP Administration, Albion Printers, the EAFP Members and Council. However, the main contribution has, of course, come from the authors, with your excellent submissions to the Bulletin over the 30 years – keep up the good work!

Misidentifcation of Cryptosporidium sp. from cultured turbot Pseta maxima
/An article published in the EAFP Bulletin Volume 29 (1) 2009 contained an inaccurracy outlined below.
A recent article by Saraiva et al. (2009) described Cryptosporidium sp. from cultured turbot Pseta maxima. However, the authors have now determined that the described structures in the bile duct epithelial cells are, in fact, diferent cut planes of rodlet cells and not developmental stages of Cryptosporidium sp..
