Bulletin update

Dear Bulletin readers

The EAFP Bulletin is a means of communicating scientific findings via short refereed papers. The News and Views section also allows for letters to the editor and EAFP related matters. Priority is given to concise papers which merit rapid publication by virtue of their interest to the field of fish pathology, but remember that preliminary observations or partial studies are acceptable provided they are adequately supported by data and experimental detail. Short reviews, methodology papers, opinion papers and papers which propose alternative hypotheses based on previous data will also be considered. Reports on workshops may also be considered for the Bulletin.

As indicated, the emphasis of the Bulletin is rapid publication of short manuscripts. In 2012, 20% of manuscripts were published within 2-3 months (this includes any time the manuscripts were with the authors for revisions). The general publication time of the Bulletin is decreasing, due to the efforts of all involved, including the authors, referees, Editorial team, EAFP Admin. and the printers. In 2012 the mean time from submission of manuscript to acceptance was 4.7 months. The mean time from submission to completion of printing and distribution was 6.3 months.

While originating as a European association, the EAFP has always been truly International, with Members from around the world. Likewise, the EAFP Bulletin welcomes submissions from both Members and non-members from all regions. Within the last 3 years, the Bulletin has been pleased to receive submissions from:

Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Columbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UK.

If you think that your region is under-represented in the Bulletin, or that your aquatic species or pathology of interest is not getting the attention it requires, then please respond by submitting your scientific findings to the EAFP Bulletin at: publications-officer@eafp.org; this is your Bulletin.

The Bulletin is subscribed to by over 900 Members and by many libraries. It is included in the major scientific abstraction / citation databases. The Bulletin does not make page charges, colour figure charges, or other charges. Please refer to the guidelines given in the Instructions to Authors (Bulletin inner back cover and at www.eafp.org).
